Hello, friends! Oof, I’m fresh out of the busiest week of our year. We have two birthdays in my immediate family, and this year, that meant three parties, in-laws visiting, and Halloween, along with normal stuff like piano lessons, Spanish class, and a history club field trip for my homeschooled daughter, all in a matter of five days. For an introvert like me, that’s simply exhausting.
It was all so much fun, though, with friends and family showing up, celebrating their behinds off, and showering us with love. Trick-or-treating was fun too, with a giant gaggle of friends along, even though it was rainy and cold. Living up north like we do, we’re used to that and take it with smiles and laughter.
Still, when I got inside last night, climbed out of my wet costume, and snuggled up in dry PJs and a blanket with a piece of pizza, I finally exhaled after the long week. I’m worn out and depleted but happy and grateful.
Now to recharge with some reading of my own this weekend as well as getting words down on my next book. I’m thinking lots of tea, a movie or two with my kiddo, the Lions game on in the background on Sunday, a little bit of diamond painting, and a few thousand words written on Holly Jolly Homicide.
Oh, shoot. I forgot I need to get groceries and some supplies for a big project my daughter starts next week. Oh, well, I can do that in between reading, writing, and relaxing.
I hope you all have a great weekend too, and if you need some cozy, light reading material, check out my series starters.

PS: Here’s a bonus picture of my Halloween costume. It’s pretty obscured by my hands and arms, but I was a fox squishmallow dressed up as a mummy!
I have that same costume this year! So comfy! I’ll probably be found wearing it on the couch reading all winter! Happy Halloween!
